Interesting situation calls for crafty solution. HELP NEEDED!

Hello fellow 86ers,

This is my first post, so apologies for any unwritten faux pas I may commit.

I have a body/cosmetic issue which I am looking to resolve in the most efficient cost-to-product way possible. I was recently in a fender bender (and by that I mean, MY car took a hit and the other guy's vehicle didn't show a scratch...) and now I have a melon-sized dent directly in the front of my car, on the bumper basically right over top the Scion emblem (no hood or other damage to speak of). Long story short, I was quoted $950 to get this fixed. Not complaining about the price quoted, just have other things to consider. Down the road I have always envisioned doing some relatively extensive cosmetic modification (i.e. Bodykit, lights, etc) so I am thinking (hoping?) this is an opportunity to both move up my timeline for cosmetics as well as circumvent paying to have my bumper repaired just to go with a full bodykit in a year or so. Which brings me meandering slowly to my actual question, do any of you know of options and/or have experience with bodykits that include full front bumpers, as opposed to ones that utilize lips or add-on pieces? I swear that I've searched online, this forum and anywhere else I could think of to find what I'm looking for. For the most part, it seems to me like the aftermarket body cosmetics have gone the way of add-on pieces more-so than full replacement parts. Cost is not my greatest concern here, although I am looking to pay less than $2,500 in total if possible. I simply hate the idea of having my bumper replaced (which it will have to be) and then paying for a bodykit if I can just get the kit to take care of both issues at once.

Any ideas or suggestions are greatly welcome!

in advance!

-Rossi

Welcome. Check out bulletproof auto as well as japanparts those sites have a good number of bumper replacements. Personally I don't like many of them but its a place to check out.

Post a pic of the damage, maybe it can just be popped out if theres no paint damage!

Also the rocket bunny v2 and v3 both swap out your front bumper as well as the varis kit (they have a widebody kit but also a non-widebody kit.) Those are the only two I know off the top of my head.

A new bumper is around 250-350 and another 300 to paint it. Or find a used one.

Find the body kit you plan to go with and find out how much it costs. Usually lower cost(cheaper than oem) means it needs lots of work to get it to fit perfectly.

Add in 600-1k to paint it, and then reconsider if $2k-2500 body kit is worth it, over a used bumper at 200-300.
