Turbo for BRZ

Will the WRX turbo fit on the BRZ and would it void the warranty if installed by dealer? Like the speed but not the pickup.

Anything will fit with fabrication.

Warranty will not cover any engine damage as a result of installing the turbo, even if the turbo is an OEM part in other Subaru vehicles.

What's wrong with installing aftermarket forced induction kits, if I may ask?

Please do some more research. Do you think that it will just bolt on.

if I recall correctly, the WRX motor is not an exact copy of the BRZ motor without the turbo. there's different internals and stuff

You can make anything fit with enough time and money.

I'd love to know the dealer that would install that LOL.

There have been examples of WRX motor's in the BRZ, but they are different engines despite the fact that they share a similar engine code.

If you want an easier option a JRSC is CARB legal and tremendously easier than dropping a new engine into the car.

No, it will not fit. The exhaust is routed the opposite direction on the WRX. Any power modification can give the dealership an excuse to deny warranty claims. And a dealership wouldn't know the first thing about installing a turbo onto a BRZ.

Ha ha! They might not even know that they don't know! The counter guy will probably tell you "sure, I'll have to look up the cost"

They told me that my car was too low to get on their alignment machine. I have prokit springs 7/8" lower. So, then I asked if they could get a stock FR-S on their machine... He tried not to answer, so I asked again. Long story short. NO, they cant fit a stock FR-S on their machine. DAMN REALY?!?!

You'd need injectors, a turbo manifold, a turbo, piping, an intercooler, and a tune to get things along. I'd go with an aftermarket kit from a reputable tuner.

A little OT, but there's a forum member who swapped an FA20DIT into a BRZ and got it working. Gotta find the thread...

ETA: if 400whp rx7was too fast, just find an edelbrock install center and get a supercharger put on.

Just because Subaru makes an FA20T doesnt mean its the right "T" for the twins.

There is no advantage (and several disadvantages) to using this unit in a BRZ.

I think you bought the wrong car just for asking that question. I say save the trouble and buy another car that has that much power. You'll be saving yourself a lot of money and the headache from it.
