Well, jefars, does your dealer say WHY it must be changed .. ??

* it's no longer putting out sufficient pressure .. ??

* it's leaking .. ??

* it's making louder "cricket" sounds than normal ..??

* for preventative maintenance reasons .. ??

* just because they want to sell and install you a new fuel pump .. ??

Comments ..??

Not that it matters... but how exactly do you have a 5 year old FRS/BRZ?

Curious...

I believe he is referring to his non-american warranty period, not his actual ownership/mileage(kilometerage?)

The lady working at the service give me the wrong information.

Last information:

The fuel pump making noise sound (I know), it's for preventative maintenance, but it's normal (no danger, no warranty).

(maybe it's just because they want to sell and install you a new fuel pump .. ??)

and yes, non-american, i'm french canadien (Location: Montreal Canada)

The cricket noise is normal. I suspect that they are trying to sell you a new pump. Unless the one you have is doing something weird, I'd leave it alone. And find a different shop.

^If they're doing it for free, fine. If they want you to pay hell no unless they can demonstrate it's failing.

Which btw, your car would tell you it's failing via a check engine light and a low fuel pressure warning, or it just wouldn't start at all.
