Nexus 5x Bluetooth Connectivity Issues

2015 BRZ Limited, just got the Nexus 5x, it sees the "CAR MULTIMEDIA" but the headunit won't connect.

It's asking me to ADD it and input a password, I can't find anywhere in the Nexus menus to put in a Bluetooth password. Never had this issue with previous phones.

Any ideas?

Did you have the head unit search for the phone or have the phone search for the head unit. I know it sounds dumb, but on my FRS it mattered which way I did it (which I do not remember). I have my Nexus 6p working with no issues.

I don't know the difference. Get in car with phone. Turn on car.

The phone sees the "CAR MULTIMEDIA" Bluetooth of the stereo. The head unit won't connect, when I select "ADD NEW" it gives the name of the of the car's BT connection, then a passcode. I can't find anywhere in the phone to enter a passcode.
