Headunit restarts when recieving calls

First off, I apologize If this has been mentioned and I have searched the forum but didn't see my specific issue

I bought the car used, but since I've had it anytime my phone is connected via Bluetooth (Samsung Galaxy S6 Active) and I recieve an incoming call the head unit restarts and I have to hold the phone, which is difficult and dangerous with a MT, until the head unit turns back on and my phone reconnects. Is there any obvious fix for this that I'm missing?

As silly as this sounds try using the age old IT answer. Unlink your phone, disconnect your battery for a couple of minutes, hook it back up and relink. There have been a couple of guys that have had your issue and that worked for them. Don't panic if your car seems to run strange for a bit after that though since the ECU has to relearn. It won't run bad just different from what you are used to.

Resetting the ecu won't effect the head unit, like is the case with engine problems and pulling the battery.

To reset the head unit you need to hold the audio or setup button and flick the headlight from OFF all the way to highest ON and down to OFF till a menu appear. In that menu search around for any codes it may give, it's a diagnostic mode, otherwise clear the memory theres an option in there for that

Not the ECU the guys that pulled the battery to reset. It worked for there connection issues as well.

Well I'm having my ECU reflashed soon anyways, I just got the car and I guess the previous owner didn't notice the rough idle or didn't know there was a fix for it

I couldn't link my new phone to the headunit (bluetooth stopped working altogether as well), plus mine would randomly reboot itself while I was driving. I had the dealership look at it and it ended up being a bad module in the headunit. You might have a similar problem.

Update: neither of the solutions suggested ended up helping in my case, so I'll mention it to the dealership when I take it to get the ECU reflashed for the idle issue
