Interior door handle removal?

Yesterday I made an attempt to wrap my door handles gloss black with the left over wrap I had from my roof. I think it came out decent for a 5 minute job, but I couldn't get it to tuck under the lock/unlock lever. I pulled the door panel off and tried to work from behind but I found no (understandable way for me) to remove the door handle completely. Any ideas guys? I searched the forum and google and turned up nothing.

Most helpful thing I can find is this: http://www.ft86speedfactory.com/toyo...l#.V0R2zPkrJhE

Doesn't look like theres an easy way to separate the handle and the lock if they're sold as a pair like this.

pull the door card, take the screws out and undo the rods in the handle. Then you can punch the pin out that holds it in place and everything pops out. you'll see what i mean when you take it apart.
