Wow, that's it? Makes me feel lucky after talking with a SoA phone rep earlier today who told me after looking up my VON that my order is "processing" which means it's currently on the ~40 day boat trip to the US! When it hits US shores it will be assigned a VIN and estimated two weeks to get on a truck en route to the dealer. Right on schedule with the "end of July" estimate that my sales guy at the dealer told me

Right on schedule with previously announced 5K BRZ to be delivered in 2012. I bet 90% of delivered cars have been sold or have a potential buyer (minus 10% to account for northern states, where Imprezas are selling better)

Good bit of info, thanks!

If this was a numbered car, I would be one of the 1000

If there's over 1000 sold, the SCCA can start classing the twins for national competition.

They were placed in CS as of the July Fastrack. ST class hasn't been decided, but most clubs are letting people run STX.

May = 271
June = 818

Source: http://www.goodcarbadcar.net/2012/05...s-figures.html

500 BRZs per month = 6000 / YEAR

818 BRZs per month = 9816 / YEAR

I hope this means production is up! July's numbers might give a better indication since some vehicles may have been here in late May but, just not sold yet.

Or they may have front-loaded the allotments to get as many BRZs out and on the road as soon as production/logistics allowed.

If you think it's rare with those numbers, try the correct ones! You are 10x higher than it should be...just over 20 per state.

Your car is now 10x more rare than you thought it was 2 minutes ago

From the same website there were 2,770 FR-S models sold so its well over 1,000. Does SCCA consider them the same car?

They're being processed simultaneously. Not sure if production numbers are being counted between the two, but it's a moot point. CS is official. ST classing will probably come once the dust has settled on the CS shakeup.
