Broken Tein Street Basis

HELP!!!
Normally I would comb through the forums and get answers and I have looked but I really am just wondering rather the coil over or Springs are better. I bought a 2013 Scion FR-S last month and noticed really bad scrubbing on the left rear with the smallest of bumps or shift while driving. Ended up taking it to a local mechanic to have it lifted a bit and we discovered it is set properly but seems to be broken in some way so i am now in the market for either new coil overs or springs.

Yes xxr 530 I think and one the side not scrubbing is about a 1 to 1 and a half inch lift, but on the other side it is the same measurement underneath the car bit rubber to finder is lower.

Your coilovers could be adjusted unevenly and one side could be lower than the other, or your spring/damper rates could be off causing one to travel further than the other

He made sure they were adjusted evenly and their is not way to adjust the damper on the coil overs i have from what i have found. There are newer models os my springs that can be adjusted and was considering buying those...

The car looks a little low with the wheel offset you have and less expensive coilovers. I would raise it up at least .5" and maybe 1" if it still rubs.

And if you are in market for new inexpensive ones, imho Tein Flex Z are worth considering. If you are mostly daily driving, most practical would be having them at least drop from height adjustment range. Of course, worth redoing alignment after their installation/adjusting height as wished.

another good question to ask is if you had an alignment done after install of the coilovers.

Have they check the damper?
Is it leaking in any way?

You want to be sure you need new coilovers before tossing money to get new one.
You can also get new coilovers as an upgrade, but only if you are looking for a performance gain.

You could just get the broken damper repaired by Tein USA.
