Cosworth Air inlet hose

In keeping with the Cosworth theme, I'm looking to add an air inlet hose to my stage 1.0 BRZ.
https://www.rallysportdirect.com/fit...let-hose-black
Anyone know if this will have any effect on a system running a stage 1.0 tune? @Matt@Cosworth

I've looked at a few other brands such as the one by Perrin http://perrinperformance.com/i-13324...-fr-s-brz.html and Mishimoto http://www.ft86club.com/forums/showp...95&postcount=4. The Perrin looks identical to the Cosworth to me in that they both have a very large radius and actually curve outward a little before curving back in to the throttle body. The Perrin looks to be a little smaller.

I noticed that the Cosworth hose deletes the stock resonator. By resonator I mean the plastic box on the underside of the air tube, not the sound amplifier. The Mishimoto keeps the resonator claiming that it adds a few HP.

Is the Cosworth designed so that a resonator is no longer needed? Has the Cosworth air tube ever been dyno tested with a stage 1.0 tune?

From one 1.0 driver to another for $163.00 I think your money is better spent elsewhere. It is my impression that the stage 1.0 tune is not affected one way or the other with this particular hose. The intake already has restriction before the filter and air box so I can't see this making much of a difference.

The only intake that I know of that has any sort of testing/documentation is the GrimmSpeed unit but it is more than just a hose.

I have the Perrin unit installed for the sole reason of getting rid of the noise generator thingy.

when we dyno tested the inlet hose there was almost no difference ( on our stage 1.3 ) maybe about 1Bhp?
its there mainly to remove the sound generator and improve the looks

If you want to keep with the Cosworth theme, I say get the supercharger

Although I saw somewhere they offer the inlet hose along with the radiator hoses. I'd like to get those when I upgrade my radiator some time this year.
