Eonon GA5167 amp and subwoofer install issue

I just had an amp and sub installed and I can not seem to control the subwoofer from the head unit. It's as if the head unit does not know there is a sub installed. The sub works but the only adjustments i can make are from the amp. Was it installed incorrectly?

Probably not, what head unit do you have? The 13 oem base frs head unit had preouts that were usable, but an installer probably would have used a line out converter anyway. Ask your installer if they can install one of these for you http://www.sonicelectronix.com/index...-OMaAl4y8P8HAQ

It looks like the Eonon GA5167 is his head unit. While I haven't used one, I do have to add this this is a cheap Chinese unit, and it's just as likely that it's not functioning correctly, as it is that it is that the subwoofer/amp was installed incorrectly.

Are you able to adjust the subwoofer volume level on the head unit, only it doesn't affect the subwoofer volume? If so, your installer may have used a line output converter on the stock wiring, or the amp may have a speaker level inputs that are being used.

I would check and make sure there is an RCA cable going from the head unit to the sub amp. If not there should be, because there is no reason not to use the subwoofer rca outputs on that head unit.

No converter was used and the amp was connected using a y adapter for the RCA since the head unit only has one rca output connection and my amp uses 2. I downloaded a different EQ for kit kat 4.4 from xda that seems to give me a lot more control but I still can not just adjust the level of the sub. The biggest issue I have now is that I have to turn down the bass so the door switches don't rattle. Which in effect lowers the bass of the subwoofer since I cant control it separately. Its got to be software related. Currently with the new EQ it is doable but I might have to install a separate EQ or a crossover to really get the full potential out of it. I thought the head unit had a built in crossover though. Just sucks I can not get the full potential out of my JL TW3. Just a FYI, if you do buy an eonon stereo just update the software to the proper OS and MCU from xda-developers.com and it really makes the headunit work great. Besides the sub issue I would definitely recommend the unit to anyone.

There is no place to adjust the subwoofer volume at all unless I wasnt able to find it. The RCA is connected properly.

The head unit works great to tell you the truth. So much so I bought a second one for my wife. She loves hers also. Just have to update the OS and MCU to the ones from xda-developers.com and it sounds excellent.

You wont get separate sub control because you are powering the amp off of one set of RCAs... what is the amp configuration? Do you have one 4 channel, or one 2 channel and a mono?
