K&N or WORKS Drop In Performance Air Filter?

Hello, I've been looking to replace my OEM air filter with either a K&N or Works filter. What I would like to know is which one is better and pros and cons of each one. Which do you prefer? Any input or advice would be greatly appreciated. Thank you!

Although I know I'm not directly addressing your question, I have a Cosworth drop-in filter and I've been impressed with its quality, fit, and performance - the engine definitely feels like it's more willing to rev. The bottom line: If you haven't made your purchase already, the Cosworth filter is something you should consider along with the K&N or WORKS units you mentioned. Highly recommended.

^this even though a filter won't make much of a difference.
I do have a slightly better mpg rating after installing it and the intake sound is a little louder aswell.

I'm not familiar with the Works filter and heard a lot of good things about the K&N being the best value.

I picked up a Blitz filter over the winter and will be installing it once the cars out.

A fun read:

Seems to be the collective opinion, pick your favorite color or brand and just buy it, you shouldn't notice a difference of one from another.

Stock air filter works pretty well. The aftermarket ones require you to clean them more frequently and we find that a bit more work than necessary!

Got the Cosworth airfilter recently to replace my filthy Apexi one.

The cosworth filter really looks similar to the apexi one, I would suggest the Apexi one for the cost. Good alternatives to look at as well.

KNN is a lot cheaper, and probably outputs the same benefits as any other drop in air filter.

and there my friends is the difference, all other filters you have to replace and buy new ones expect for KN, they are lifetime reusable.

I use to use K&N filters for years starting on my motorcycles back in the 80's. I put one in my 2004 Forester XT but it the gauze weave started to look shabby after a few cleanings. I read about a similar style (oiled gauze) by Green Filter. I don't know if anyone else is familiar with this brand but IMHO it's quality is better. I've decided to order one for the BRZ but if you want to see some comparison pics (Green VS OEM VS K&N) of the forester one I have them here:

http://www.scoobymods.com/showthread...71.html?t=2271

I will report back when I get the filter and take some comparison pics. The Green Filter number for the BRZ is "Green Filter 2319" I got mine on Amazon, the price is comparable to a K&N but honestly I think the quality is better. The weave seems less likely to shrink and the pleats are constructed. More of an FYI, when I get the BRZ I will report back.

Link to the filter directly

http://www.greenfilterusa.com/store/2319

You can find them a lot cheaper on line than the cost there.

I like the dryflow filter options, oil can get on the MAF and cause failures/malfunctions.
