You can use the cheapest oil and your engine will be fine.

Sent in an oil sample to Blackstone and received a favorable report in return.

I've used Mobil 1 0W-20 Advanced Fuel Economy Full Synthetic and OEM filter for all of my oil changes and all is still right in the world. As for use, I've had a couple of track days on this car as well as late nights wringing the engine out in the Santa Cruz Mountains. I've also love practicing my skids which isn't the best on the engine... or the axles... or the rear tires... but lo, readith from the book of Blackstone and believe.

The Mobil One AFE 0w-20 is actually a pretty good oil.

No one said cheap oil was inferior.

As long as it meets minimum specs for the car as specified by the manufacturer, any oil will do.

And FYI the manufacturer has attributed at least some of the cam phasing engine problems and engine failures on properties of the oil.

For a few extra $$ I like using exactly what the dealer tells me to use so there are no "outs" for them to use later.

Cause Mobil 1 is not a "cheap" brand. Although you can buy it hella cheap at Walmart

This isn't a shitty or cheap oil, I don't really know what you're on about. If cheap were a measure of quality, half the Subaru gang wouldn't be running Rotella T6.

I spend maybe $10 bucks more buying Castrol Edge 0w-20 at Walmart. It's a drop in the bucket as far as I'm concerned to use my preferred brand.

Cheap may not be the right description for Mobil1 but many, many posts have been made on this (and other) forums warning against its use in boxer engines.

Thread title should be updated to "STFU: Mobil1 is fine"

Toyota 0w20 is half of the price compared to any other 0w20.
