94 Octane rom fine tuning for OFT
My BRZ is currently tuned with 93 Stage 1 OTS tune (OFT) and its running well but something crossed my mind today: Most Canadians have access to 94 octane petrol from Petro Canada. Will there ever be an OTS tune for 94 users or is there a way to fine tune my OTS rom in romraider to maximize our tune for us 94 users? I know E85 is the way to go but there arent any stations here in Toronto. Thanks in advance.

Since Canada's gas isn't as great as the states you may want to consider using the 91.
As far as I know CA 94 /< US 91 |

Like what was said above, the Canadian 94 is comparable to US91. At least here in BC. I'm currently running the OTS stage 2 UEL 91 tune and occasionally see the ignition timing getting pulled when running the Canadian 94

I have been able to add in a bit of timing to the OFT 93 maps when running Husky 94. I notice a lot more knock and IAM's ~0.8 when filling with the occasional 91 octane around here. Alot of people say the Petro Canada 94 isn't as good but I haven't experienced it since we don't have it in Saskatchewan. I presume the Husky 94 comes from their refinery in Lloydminster, but I have no idea where Petro Canada makes theirs.

I run PC94 on the Stage 1 93 tune and have no problems. @wparsons said he gets knock on 91 using the 91 tune.

The only 94 we can get in bc is Chevron, and Ya, stop and go with AC on is a bad time. Crossing the boarder and filling with Chevron 92 is a massive improvement. Seen a bunch of dyno charts from drift office in Washington comparing the 2 fuels. A boosted 86 running the us92 might make 275whp, the same car on Canadian 94 can only do 230 safely we need e85 to be easier to get

94 octane Canadian is not 91 octane American lol. Where the hell you guys get that shit from?! All I run is Petro Canada ultra94. Been using it for years and years wwith lots of success.
Back to the OP, a custom tune is your best bet to extract more power from our 94. I highly doubt OFT will release a 94 "Canadian octane" map just for us. You're best to just stick with the 93 map for simplicity. The difference between 1 octane point is miniscule.

Has anybody tried Esso's 92? I haven't filled at an Esso for years and recently got a gas card for there, noticed they have 92 as their premium now. I'm curious how that performs, perhaps I'll try it one day and do some logging.

Well, I certainly cannot speak for out west. We don't even have Chevron- or at least I've never seen one out this way. Hell, I can't even remember the last time I've been to a gas bar with 93 or 92 (albeit I only go to PC for the 94). But when I do need gas and can't find a PC with 94, the highest everywhere else it seems is only 91 around here. !
Too many variables to say though. Maybe the fuel is tampered with - "watered down".

Yeah, all other stations here are 91 at best, other than Chevron 94. But all of the 'premium' grades don't have ethanol in them. But cross the border to Washington state, their 92 does have ethanol and is far superior.. At least when it comes to knock resistance.
