Tire Tread Life for Michelin Pilot Super Sport
Spring is almost here! I'm planning to buy MPSS. I'm not planning to use it for track more of a daily and occasionally in the twisty. So how many miles have you guys put on it? 10K, 20K, 30K, 40K or >40K MILES. MPSS has a 300 tire wear and has a 30K warranty.
Also have you guys had any issues with the MPSS? ex. balancing issues Thanks guys! |

Some ppl say they last shorter for sure. Just for daily A/S 3s gives you really much better miles.

I would imagine you could get 30k out of a set of MPSS. I've been running them for almost a year on the AMG for track days and they have been wearing fairly well considering the HPDE abuse on an AMG.
I got 20k miles out of Dunlop Star Specs (200 wear rating) with some autocrossing so 30k on MPSS with purely street use sounds reasonable.

15k on them and around 10 track days. They are at around 40-50% of their thread left. Their grip is mostly gone tho, but for a street tire they still work. On street alone I would say 30k easily, more realistically 40k.

20k miles rear 25k front. No burning them though.
Also, 17k rear. I've had/have 10 MPSS tires. Used up 6. 245/40/17s. My new ones are 245/35/18. The "cheaper" ones, that are 1 lb heavier. They make two this size, it may be bmw tire, anyway the other one this size is like 50$ more and 1 lb lighter. |

12K on mine with 2 trackdays(one of them pretty hot) and 9 laps on the Nordschleife. Still some 20-30% left but they're significantly worst in the rain/wet now(cold temps don't help either) so i'll finish them on the track.
Very happy with these tires, i would definitely buy them again but i just got some Sport Cup 2's (still on the stock size).

I'm at 18,000 miles with my 235/45/17 PSS with 5/32" tread life left. I'm planning on replacing them at 4/32", when did you guys replace yours?
