Automatic not downshifting in manual mode

Hey guys new here! Just bought an automatic 2015 FRS and I've been meddling with the manual mode. I've noticed that recently in this insane north east cold it doesn't downshift with the knob but it's perfectly fine with the paddle shifters. Not sure if its the sub zero weather or just something wrong with the car but I'm trying to be optimistic lol

check the warranty boards it may be part of the TSB recall for the 15 ATs. I didnt have that exact problem but if you are also getting large rpm fluctuations when stopped or in park just take your car back to the dealership and have them do the TCU update. It's free and might solve your problems in one shot.

Yup Dealership time, although the TCM update won't fix that issue. The paddles and shift knob both run back to the TCM, if one is working and the other isn't there's an issue either with the cold or a connection somewhere.

Yea im kinda hoping with warmer days it rectifies itself. Didn't have the issue previously and its been brutal temperature wise the past couple of days. I'm gonna give the manual mode some rest and once it warms up see if it continues. if not off to the dealer i go

If you have an issue and you can repro it, then take it to the dealer and show them. This will bring peace of mind as your issue has been recorded on their books and if its an issue, you will more likely receive their support however it pans out later. Don't wait for warmer days in this case.

^^^^ THIS ^^^^ If you're still under warranty, make sure to bring it to the dealership, repro for them, and have them document it. You can elect to delay the repair, but you can't go back in time to have them document the issue in case another issue crops up.
