OFT A/F tuning question
Hello everyone, Quick question for ya.
While using OFT how would I tune closed loop fueling? After installing my perrin 2.5inch catback I noticed some fluctuation in my air to fuel ratios. while cruising I am hitting 14.2 so just a tad rich (expected this). I've read the other threads so just looking for a quick straightforward answer (sorry if this is called spoonfeeding). I do understand how to use romraider and log, any help is appreciated. Also when doing some wot pulls I have noticed my a/f will go lean 15ish then back down to the correct a/f but still doing 11.6 imo this is a little to rich? The transition from CL to OL is not as smooth as I would like it and when I dial in the A/f ratios I plan to adjust timing for daily drive-ability. Any tips are appreciated, really looking for laymen's terms which I am sure could help others like me thanks. Current modifications: JDL UEL header stock op stock fp Perrin 2.5 resonated cbe A01C Edit: CL compensation A or B? I am assuming B Edit 2: When flashing back to back adjusting timing or fueling how many miles do you guys recommend until I log at wot for an accurate reading? Catback will not have any effect on AFR. Closed loop should not run rich or lean by anything significant... that's the magic of closed loop. Post a log if you're not sure; sounds like you might be misinterpreting it.

You need to adjust your MAF scale. most of the off the shelf tunes will be rich especially if you have a stock air intake. this is a scale I found that should help, https://docs.google.com/spreadsheets...R3Y/edit#gid=0 My guess is somewhere close to (V97 us Lean stg2)

I did a quick reflash and logged after 20 miles or so and afr seems pretty close to commanded afr. My main "concern" is the transition from closed loop fueling to open loop is not as smooth as I would like it to be.
when im hitting 11.2 afr at wot I am definitely running rich when the commanded afr is 11.8. So while using rom raider would I lean out the commanded afr more? I would like the smoothest afr possible to be able to maximize safe power. Ideally, what is the best commanded afr during open loop while being N/A with boltons to maximize power? |

And you don't need to change your commanded AFR, you need maf scaling and possibly load limits. Go read up on Wayno's "OTS GUIDE TO DIALING IN YOUR TUNE" |
