Beginner HID Question...

thanks anyone who writes something knowledgeable here...

so ive never bought nor installed HID's before in my life. Dont know about the lighting game. i was thinking about getting a bunch of HID's....

So I believe there are four lights: (1) daytime running lights (2) headlights (3) turn signals (4) fog lights

I would like to keep my turn signals factory yellow, and purchase:

- fog light bezel and i believe i would have to upgrade the bulb to HID
- HID for the headlight
- HID for the daytime running lights

so thats either four or three things i need to buy (depending on wether the fog lights come with HID or not)

QUESTION#1: can someone please confirm that the list of parts i need is correct?

QUESTION #2: anyone know the best place to get decent HIDs and fog lights etc.? i want something moderately priced, i cant spend all the money to buy the best stuff out there.

QUESTION#3: i want to go for an ALMOST perfectly white look (for bulb color) with just a tiny hint of blue, just to make it look kinda like a fancy white (thats what ill imagine). Does anyone recommend a color for that? Does anyone know if it is typical for shops to have samples of the bulb colors?

thank you everyone for the help. i apologize if the message is just another thread started over again, the search feature isnt the greatest.

thanks, have a good one

You don't want hid's in a housing NOT designed for it. It does work ok with the stock projectors, but don't expect anything special.
35watt is the one you want. 55 watt is too powerful.
Don't get hid's for day time running lights.
Don't get hid's for fog lights.

Beam pattern is acceptable(to some) with a 35watt kit and stock headlights.
Everything else is not acceptable for hid and will cause a lot of glare and blind everyone.

Diodedynamics is a sponsor of this forum and has good warranty on their products and could guide you through the selection process.

5000k will be a pure white while 6000k will have some blue. keep in mind that the bluer (higher up the kelvin rating) you go, the less lumens you get. stick around 5000k and at most, 6000k. stick with HID's in the headlights and leave the rest the way they are. keep in mind that an HID bulb cannot run without a ballast so you will need to buy an "HID kit" that includes the connectors from your stock bulb connection to a ballast, which then connects to an HID bulb.

keep in mind that you get what you pay for in a sense, so cheap $30 kits are bound to fail on you. +1 on diode dynamics
