Made me realize those Europeans must envy how privileged we are just like how we envy the Japanese. So I decided I'd better capitalize on my blessings!
the first batch of Formula HLT will arrived this September, and only available at Grigio Corsa (Grey matte i think..) sadly no gold except specially ordered.. i will try to match them when they have arrived..

XXR is quite common but not for the twin... mostly opt for Rays - Work - BC Forged - ADV.1 ...

i get what you mean there sadly we are premium-ed by all.... even XXR/Rotas...

because we don't have much choice for some things you mentioned different case in wheels...

Fact of the matter is there's always a cheaper route and to spend a premium on superficial things and skimp on wheels is just plain hypocritical. Especially if you paid the premium for a BRZ to start. The differences between an FRS and a BRZ are much more superficial than the difference between a cast and rotary forged wheel.
I just like to argue honestly. Hahaha

XXR's look nicer, more concave. I didn't like them for my own car because it's not the style I'm going for, and the fact that they had 10 lugs drives me crazy. Can't stand 10 lug.

My wheels have a pilot hole for the opposite bolt pattern, which doesn't bother me nearly as much.

I like OZ as a brand, affordable, light weight, strong. They used OZ's for the McLaren F1, so it always has a spot in my heart. But in this case, I don't like the design of these wheels.

Cast wheels are plenty sufficient for a street car whereas rotary forged can be overkill. A Porsche engineer pointed out the new 2013 Porsche 911 GT3 991 now comes standard with forged wheels for the first time (the prior GT3 had cast wheels):

Shame on Porsche for hypocritically cheaping out on their flagship sports car up until now! For shame!

And who said forged wheels aren't in my future? I shouldn't feel obligated to blow $2.5k+ dollars *right now* on the current offerings that I feel "meh" about. So I wait with wheels that best satisfy me in the meantime.

The hypocritical part is spending $400 on toms tail lights and forking out the premium for the BRZ and then putting down expensive wheels to make you feel better about the xxr's. I told you I've owned nothing but Rotas and XXRs in the past but I didn't find them appropriate for this car. It's all opinion anyway.
In the guitar world it's the equivalent of forking out $2000 for a Gibson les Paul and skimping and buying a $150 crate brand combo amp to play it through.

Even if the XXR cost $1600 and OZ cost $600, which ever has the better fitment, more aggressive/concave spoke design, and lighter weight despite wider barrel is what I would go with. I buy parts that I like... how hypocritical is it to buy wheels that I like? Seems pretty consistent to me. Cost wasn't the sole deciding factor (it was a bonus). Thought I already said all that...

Well, in the car world Porsche put cast wheels on their flagship sports car.

Detail of XXR gold paint:

The gloss might be a little misleading because of the insanely good photography. Or it could be accurate, just captured with the right lighting/angle.

the lack of the center cap (nothing wrong with spotting the XXR caps neither, just saying) and the sti lugs are very tasteful.

Yeah, I drove 50mph right over a concrete slab that protruded straight up at 90 degrees a couple inches above the asphalt last week (a block past a construction zone but they forgot to put more construction signs here). Sent the hardest jolt I ever felt in a car but no signs of cracks nor impact breaks on tires. The type of impact that can bend/crack any kind of rim.

Anyone know where else I can purchase the 17x8 OZ Formula HLT. TireRack only has 2 left in stock...and of course I don't want to pay an arm and a leg (something reasonable)
