Just read through the CFD and FEA articles for the lmp car and the lca very cool stuff in there! I was able to do one semester of FEA in school my senior year and that was pretty fun stuff! Did a steering knuckle for my final project haha

That's some really sweet work man curious to see how those parts turn out. Man I'd love to get a motorsports engineering degree. My ME degree feels too broad

Possibly new product???
Finishing up prototype:

This is off to a testing facility to be loaded, strain gauged, and elongation closely watched. We will be able to accurately tell if it is past its yield strength and how it compares to our FEA analysis. More stuff to come .
You could just put it on my car for a couple of hours and see if it can withstand the 3hoour nelsmar test. We can just jump the car a few times...

I'm glad to hear someone read them ... and of course you're an engineer . We're the only ones who care haha.

I'm technically an MET, with a Motorsports certificate. I'm pretty broad as well. I think a broader base is a great place to start and then hone in on something you love.

Few updates:

Intake manifold is being prototyped. I'm hopeful to have parts here next weekend... but I'm not sure about that. The goal is to have a unit on the dyno by the end of March. I have a large fixture being cut in the waterjet right now as well for the tube welding.

Fuel rails and cam sensor covers back from ano... then off to laser etching.

LCA in CAD, then on the shop car (barely pushing the limits of anything, it's a glorified parts runner), and then a strain gauge. We are currently very close to testing these units on the bench. They have been outfitted with strain gauges (multiple), and will be meticulously loaded and measured to ensure no deformation occurs (past yield strength). We will be testing one high static load to ensure it matches or comes close to our FEA results, and then we will be doing a life cycle test. After this is done, we will know when, how, and if the unit fails.

We have met some opposition to the aluminum construction and we want people to rest assured, we are taking every measure to ensure no failures occur. No other company has gone to these lengths to my knowledge .

We weren't able to use CFD as much as I'd like to have on the intake manifold. Constantly learning and improving our skills, but it's never enough .

I actually don't do the CFD, I'm the "design guy". Paul's the analysis wizard!

A few. But for the most part, carbon fiber would price us out of the market. Which components were you thinking of specifically?

Nothing specific just curious if there was anything you would develop in CF

thanks!
