Automatic Trans Build FR-S
I have a 2013 FR-S that I just installed a Turbo in. Now I'm needing a better transmission to hold up the the HP. Is there a company out there that specializes in these transmissions? I'm not considering a manual at this time. Id rather stick to my auto for now. Thanks

Have you tried a trans cooler? Valve body mod?
I know of someone with an auto turbo currently making 300kw at the wheels and I don’t believe they’ve done any other upgrades besides those two. They’ve had the turbo for a year |

No I haven't tried either of those things. Truthfully I know very little about transmissions. I know my main issue is before the engine gets warmed up if I try and gas it, I get to about 5k rpms and it will start to bounce between 5k and 6k before shifting into that next gear.

www.sspperformance.com was doing the upgrades for a while but looks like the site was refreshed or they stopped providing the service?
![]() The stock trans holds 300whp pretty well. Once over 300 then you may want to send those guys an email. I also have a auto twin, love it lol. I'll be turbo sometime next year myself but plan to re-build the motor with lower compression for boost. |
