My motivation is simple, i like that car i buy it.
If it WAS unaffordable before, i will make it affordable by working/finding a job that helps me work towards it.

Not everyone has cash in hand (me for example) but you can always work towards it (loan towards it), i dont want to be in my 50s or 60s before owning my dream car, i would rather be indebt young and with everything i every want.
Seems to be working for me so far

BTW back on topic, $40ks max ill go, already got rid of the EVO 8 MR, gonna get rid of the track 6.5 to finance this. Purchased another Ae86 for track fun!
EVO 8 MR - SUCH A GOOD RIDE! been track day with it before?

I have the same sentiment here as well.
Enjoy life while I'm still young and able.
The only debt I have is the house loan and I'm half way paying it off.
86 is not a necessity but what the heck, life is short.
I'm gonna take money out of the house and pay this car off, unless Toyota offer 2.9% finance (I know, I'm dreamin! ).

Well by Monday, as davey90 said, I'll know whether its a Good Buy or Goodbye...

We are all adults here and most of us have work our butt off for 10-20 years now.
After all, we are talking about a $40k+ Toyota, not a BMW M3 with a part-timer paycheck from Coles...

You guys are going to be in for a rude awakening when they announce the prices lol. I'm telling you now that the lowest model will be 40K and the high end will start at 45K at the very least. If anyone manages to get a low spec for 38k, that would be great!

If thats the case, they wont sell many after the hype dies down.

(all prices for car i have changed to gt model (people that said gts i took 4k off))

Now 12 people gave a ceiling, 4 people were $40k or above.
Now lets say the Cost of the car was $25k (toyota austs cost)
and they chose to sell the car for 40k they would sell 4 of them to us, 8 would say no way. "profit" of 15k per sale = 60k
if they chose to sell it at the lowest price ceiling here. 33k they would sell 12 cars @ a "profit" of 8k per car= 96k profit...

now "profit" was clearly an indication on not a number...

what do u guys think ?
Good point but you left out two important factors - supply and demand. If Toyota has a maximum number of cars to sell (1500 for AU) and more buyers than cars, then Toyota need to maximise the profit from those 1500 cars.

Its not like Toyota Aus only has 1500 too sell, more cars will come just means you need to wait.

Although if its priced at 40k and up all those pre sold will slowly twindle into cars left over.

Its a good car and a fair buy at $28k, anything more and there are so many options

With a 14.9 sec quartermile and a pretty relaxed 1-100time its certainly not about the power, any old Magna V6 is going to hose the doors of this thing, and most of the roads in Australia tend towards being straighter than bendy

So by the time you spend $40k ish and start some tuning and mods to get it all happening ......... rich boyz toy
