Yes, a 5 yr/60k mile warranty. But it only comes with 1 seat, although you can buy the passenger and rear seat for $1 each, lol.

I'm not a 1/4 mile guy, but am I the only one who thinks it's pointless to make a production car for the drag strip that can't actually make a pass? I mean yeah a 1.36 sec 60' and 9.65 sec 1/4 mile are impressive, but it's weird for Dodge to brag about that when no buyer is ever going to experience that launch without the surface prep at a strip (which this car is now banned from).

It's sort of the equivalent of someone who buys a Viper ACR for its lap times and never takes it to the track. Except in this case even if you wanted to take the car out, you would literally be barred from it. Seems an odd way to market the car. It's like Dodge is counting on the buyers to either be guys who only care about 1/4 mile bragging rights but never want to try it for themselves, or guys who are willing to hack up their shiny new $90k car to put in the necessary cage.

It's a cool car but I guess I don't really "get" it.

If I understand the NHRA rules correctly, cars that can run under a 9.9 require a full cage, fire suit, fire suppression system, and a few other things, so the Demon can run the strip, you just have to add some stuff.

Yeah that's my understanding as well. I doubt many owners would be willing to hack up their shiny new car like that (esp to add the cage), but maybe I'm wrong

First production car to the lift the front wheels up (on slicks) during a launch too, impressive.

Owners that actually want to hit the strip will hack up the car without a moments hesitation.

Those that don't but just want bragging rights won't.

How many FRS/BRZ/86s are one here with $10K+++ modifications that have never seen, nor ever will see, a race track of any sort?

It is just a bigger toy, for bigger boys, with bigger budgets. The guys that are able to drop the money on it will treat it the same as the people here scrimping and saving to buy a knock off RB kit so they can chop up their "expensive" car.

You could be right (I honestly have no idea what percentage of owners are that extreme) but that just sounds crazy to me given it's expected to be $90k and the car would no longer be street legal.

If you're talking about track-specific parts then yeah that confuses me too. Seems pointless adding track parts to a street-only car. If it's just $10k in generic power upgrades or cosmetic stuff like wheels/body kit, I can understand.

For the guys that will actually race $90K is peanuts for a car that is already that far along. Keep in mind that not only would they pay that and throw in the required equipment they could spend tens of thousands MORE to make it even faster.

True... I suppose you're right. I still don't get buying a brand new car that expensive/nice and turning it into a non-street legal drag strip car, but I guess someone out there has money to burn.

Yep, the "buying a brand new car that expensive/nice" is relative. Search #gtr on IG and you'll find a whole bunch of expensive/nice, non-street legal cars which have never been on track. Plenty of hacked up hellaflush ones too

Out of curiosity, what does one do with a non-street legal car that isn't tracked? Just a garage/show-piece, or do they drive it on the street and hope not to get pulled over?
