Msa molds their pillars into factory pillars so it still retains the factory shape as well as the same function. There's a green clip that pops out when the airbag deploys but the actual pillar in stock form doesn't come off when the airbag goes off, the green clip simply pops out and unfolds to extend the pillar enough for the airbag to pop out of the side. The same goes for the Msa gauge pod, it's made pretty much like an oem pillar retaining all the same shapes and clips that retain the same function in the event of an airbag deploying, same as an oem pillar.

EDIT:
Found the exact post from Msa pretty much explaining the same thing I just did, as well as pictures of the green clip I mentioned.

Weird question, how is the 0-60 now with your build? close to 5 secs at least?

I know it doesn't matter much, but I'm just very curious about the 0-60 improvement with a Vortech SC and exhaust/headers/tune.

I'm looking at the Vortech kit as well, just don't want to make the jump up to a turbo kit but the Innovate seems to limited. Any tuning done locally? I'd love to check out the car.

Well done! Good numbers. Map4 drives nicely on 93 octane.

I actually have no idea, i've never timed it and haven't been to the track, to be honest I dont drive the car much and when I do hard driving it's usually just a few small drift sessions.

I went with the vortech more so because I felt it would be slightly more reliable than a turbo and generate less heat (especially here in Texas). I do plan on going turbo though later on down the road when I decide to go for a lot more power but for now i'm very happy with the SC. I try to make it out to the local meets as often as I can so if you're ever out there and see me come and say whatsup and you can check it out.

I haven't checked on my car either, the 0-60 time. I'm not sure of a realizable way to read it, and not about to do the iPhone method...

Yeah exactly my thoughts, I'm not too worried about 0-60times anyway.

Here's some more updates on recent mods and photos.

I love this car. Very clean looking. You have done a great job. After reading Dezoris review threads, the Vortech kit seems like the safest bet for SC. I am going to keep my eye on your thread and Dezoris to see how this car does after a winter and some more miles.

Again, just a great job.

Thank you sir! I'll definitely keep the thread updated as I continue putting miles on the car and of course as I continue adding more parts. Front pipe and overipe are next, then oil cooler and radiator!

Finally got a custom dyno tune, local shop called JMS Racing picked up Ecutek recently so I was able to get my tune done by them.
Done on the stock fuel system and stock pulley. I just scanned the printout but they're going to be emailing me the graph overlay with the previous tune I had from Perrin.

Great thread man... Has anyone done the same with a 91 Octane and Auto tune?

How are you liking the Megan Racing Coilovers, strut and sway? Particularly the MR Coilovers though, what made you go with them? They are very inexpensive and are kind of tempting to pick up. But obviously there is that lingering fear of 'if its cheap, its garbage'. Although that doesn't always ring true...
