looks like im going to have to join the oft club. i've had unichip installed since the third week of owning my car and was hoping that the development wouldn't have died off completely. especially after installing bpb's and seeing no support at all for them other than hearsay.

no offense to jack of course, i've been a supporter of unichip for a very long time. i had one installed on my mazdaspeed protege back in the day. i think they have a great place depending on what you're trying to accomplish but for frs/brz/gt86 owners, going with the oft is a no brainer.

This isn't normal behavior.

It just didn't seem to want to respond at all. I could hit what I wanted, but I have to press rather hard.

I'll go ahead and try calibrating it. I'll let you know if it helps or fixes it.

If you are on the newest B01c/d series rom, dealer will have no need to plug in and update ECU.
If you are on an older version, and request the update for lets say.... AC idle dip TSB, then yes, deff flash back to stock first, let em flash newest ROM, - re-marry OFT and flash stg 1 back.... unneeded though, as all the new OTS maps are based on the new roms.
Yeah, they shouldn't have any reason to touch the ECU, but I'll probably flash back to stock just to be totally safe.

Is flashing the stock ROM back to the car enough to "un-marry" the OFT from the car, or is there something further I need to do?

Definitely sounds like the screen is out of calibration. So calibrating it in the calibration menu will definitely do the trick. Just make sure you use a stylus for this step so it calibrates properly. From that point onwards, you can use your fingers.

To un-marry the OFT, just flash back to stock first. Then connect the OFT to OF Manager (with WIFI connection) and go to Erase Data and click on START. At that point, your OFT will be like new again and ready for installation in the same (or another) car. That's it

OFT has been the best 500$ I've spent on the FRS!! Only running OTS stage 1, but the car is way more responsive, I love how the idle holds steady at 700-900 RPMs, I hated the stock idle and it would always dip and fluctuate from the shitty ass stock tune!
Car def pulls harder! Can't wait to try UEL stage 2 when my header arrives
Thanks shiv!

It pulls super hard all the way through and the torque dip' is WAY less noticeable. Really happy with this device. It improved the feel of this car, ten fold.

My only qualm is the valve-train noise around the 3500-4000 region. But I guess that's just the nature of the beast, and the revised VTT mapping. Also, my ABS light and traction control symbol seem to be appearing at random when data logging. At least it seems random, I tried braking hard, and breaking the tires loose and it didn't do it every time. Not sure what would be causing this, but it has only happened when data logging?

Running e85 Stg2 and my idle fluctuates ~150-200 rpm. Maybe I should re-download and apply the Tune again?

Worth a shot, you always want to try to run the latest tune released as it has the most recent updates. Read the notes that come with each tune version as maybe you're running an older tune that didn't have the updates yet. Also, if your A/C is on, that fluctuation is normal when the compressor kicks on/off.

Pretty much exactly what he said. I even offered a couple of my friends to try the tune for a day to convince them to go ahead and get the OFT
