The F430 and NSX were back in NJ and the SL55 AMG was in NC, but yeah my office here in WI is attached to the guys who built the Call of Duty games so we have a sweet parking lot and garage.

OP any sales reps that are women at that dealership? I'm only asking because perhaps that maybe a better option for you. First sales rep I had was a dude who was a rude fucka. I chose a woman sales rep who was awesome & knew her shit about the car. Told her what I wanted and that was it. No bullshit and even after I bought the car she contacted me on how I was enjoying the car. That's the kind of sales rep you want.

Either way i'm going to another dealership. I've dealt with plenty of nice sales people. All I want from them is honesty. If you don't know, admit it, we all don't know everything about the cars. But to argue with you defending your own wrong facts..... not a good way to make a sale. |

another thing.
ok sure, my thread isn't the most professional thread. BUT, it's a forum and i'm not a vendor. I came here and posted my experience. If I was on the other end of this experience and i saw the person who made the thread come back in, i would say "Hey, I ended up reading the thread you posted about your experience, and about me. I think we had a misunderstanding, maybe we can work something out. I would be happy if you could also remove the thread" Don't approach them and get hostile and defend yourself. If you're in sales, you're going to have tough customers to deal with. I was not being a tough customer, or a difficult one, but everything I experienced is the what a sales person should not do. - Assuming I am someone else cause of my ethnicity - Telling me to prove to you I know about the car - Telling me I can test drive a car only if I know something about it. (Stupid me actually decided to do that). Then saying no after 10-15 minutes. - Telling me a bunch of wrong facts. Only thing that was done right was shaking my hand. I've been on many other forums where members ranted about someone or someplace. The responses i've seen from the receiving end were very professional, and probably earned more business based on how the issues were dealt with. |

Many salespeople are trained to never waiver and never display any weakness that might put the power in the hands of the buyer. They are trained to maintain dominance and control over the interaction at all times. ...which is why more and more salespeople are turning out to be flat out assbags. Admitting they don't know, that you know more than they do, and especially admitting they are wrong are serious power shifts, and they feel that puts them at a disadvantage in the interaction. Many who are trained to never give up control are not trained on how to deal with it when they start to feel that control slip, so the obvious reaction is to dial up the arrogance and dominance to regain power. It's sad, but it's the truth. Where I used to live, I was friends with a psychologist who was hired as a consultant by numerous car dealers and he was repeatedly asked to train the sales staff in psychological warfare, which may sound extreme but that's exactly what it is. Control words, power phrases, intonation, body language, dominance and coercion... the whole 9 yards. Those same dealers couldn't be bothered to send their staff to training on the actual products they were selling. ...and people wonder why they often leave car dealerships feeling belittled, degraded, disrespected, and mentally abused. For those dealers that still believe in honesty, integrity, respect, and fairness -- good on them. They're becoming a rarer breed by the day. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk |

At first glance I wouldn't have thought this was an issue, I know I'd have no problem if someone walked up to me and asked "Are you Steve Rogers ugly brother? He was supposed to come in today."
But he kept going on about it, annoying. And then seeing the actual Peter Lau show up in the thread, the salesman was fucking name dropping assuming you were aware of the community and give him an easy sale because he knew Peter Lau, they're buddies, and a buddy of such a prominent community member would never rip you off. Or maybe I need to spend more time on tinfoil hats and less time bothering people. Not implying that Mr. Lau had anything to do with this scenario in any way other than being a stand up dude to my knowledge. |
