You in San Antonio by chance? Worst drivers in America I swear. I have never seen so many people coming to a complete stop for no reason. Yield signs might as well be stop signs, same thing when two lanes merge together, or they are making a U turn with a dedicated merge lane.. |

I'm in DFW but I feel and share your pain.
It's so bad I think some type of IQ test should be given in order to get a license. People will literally come to nearly a complete stop in a 55mph area to make a turn even though they have a protected green light. |

Just remember those fragile little synchros. You can sequentially downshift and engage the clutch with each gear until you get comfortable with steady-state driving in the powerband. Get to know the correct gear for the speed at which you want to initiate a good pull. Be careful not to overdo it. Once you're confident you can double-clutch from 6th to 3rd smoothly without abusing the synchro, you'll pass like a boss. It's fun! |

Back on topic about the tS: Who is going to be able to daily drive this thing with that huge wing? And will Subaru tune the suspension too rough for the streets of San Francisco?

![]() What purpose does it serve to double clutch? Why not just shift directly to third, hit the gas to rev match, and let out the clutch? I wouldn't want that wing on my car regardless, but that's just a matter of preference. Stock or 5 axis look better to me. Not sure how anyone can answer the 2nd question without driving it. |

Some (most) people do a clutch-disengaged sequential 5-4-3 shift to spool up in steps. I prefer double clutching to spool up and then letting it sink into 3rd. Zero effort and super smooth. |
