Did anyone manage to re-pin Deopressor's adaptor to set the LED strip to dim at its lowest brightness? I know there's a way but want to know how.

As I've said before you can't, unless you open it up and tap the pcb. Theres a reason why the JDM only has 6 wires, USDM has 6 wires and the EUDM has 7 wires. JDM taps only the low power configuration (Night Light), USDM taps only the high power configuration (Daytime Light), EUDM taps both Low and High (Hence the 7th wire as EUDM has Daytime lights and Nighttime lights). You could probably also have a resistor to lower the power going for an option for not opening the headlights, but its a DIY project. I've owned both JDM and USDM OEM headlights and I've seen someone here with a DIY on EUDM lights.
The easiest solution without doing any work and blinding people would be buying EUDM, but EUDM has no DOT stamp on it. http://www.ft86club.com/forums/showthread.php?t=39576 This is a good writeup on the wires and how they function. The wires im referencing to are the White and Green wires. The Green is LED LOW and White is LED HIGH. JDM uses the Green only so not DRL. USDM uses the White only so no Nighttime light. EUDM has both. TLDR: Repinning will do nothing, you need to tap the LED LOW on the PCB or put a resistor on the LED HIGH Wire. Last edited by FRSHunter; 09-09-2015 at 05:42 PM. |

Hmm, that's odd cause going back some pages (around pg. 4) Deopressor states that you can simply move the pins from the high to low setting for your LED bars.
But nevertheless, the reason I've asked is only for conventional driving and safety matters. There's really no point on having the conversion, yet, getting harassed by the enforcement and pay extra bucks to get it removed again. ![]() I haven't seen the led strip at 100% power at night with the HIDs lit at the same time. Just how exactly BRIGHT are they?? Enough to blind opposing traffic and become a cop's bait? or just being noticeable? I'm guessing the LED strip cannot go beyond the extent of blinding traffic...but just a guess. By the way, I'm assuming you are capable of passing the safety inspection with these headlight conversion living in Hawaii?! I'm moving over to Oahu soon. I have the 10 series headlights going into my base FRS so indeed they do come w/ the DOT stamping, and not the JDM version where it's not DOT approved.

Basically what we have to do is find out where deopressor tapped into for power for the LED's on the custom harness (believe its the corners), disconnect it, and run wiring from both LEDs directly to the power for the stock DRL (with the resistor still unplugged of course). Then we can run that custom resistor to have the LED strips light up at 50% with the headlights on.
This is just my guess. I have been too lazy to actually go and give it at shot. |

So I've now successfully got the 10 series lights installed into my FRS. I had the shop use deopressor's adaptor but as been told the DRL strip was wayyyyy too bright. I had the shop modify the adaptor so that the light is operating as a normal 10 series/monogram would; with the DRL strip shutting off when the low beam's are on and the DRL strip only comes on when you release the e-brake. Honestly, I feel very secure this way as my main intentions for the car is being conventional as far as modding goes. Last thing I want to deal with is being cited for something that could've been prevented.

The wiring is if you had repinned it, it really isn't that difficult. I've had the adapters then sold it with a pair of JDM lights and got 10 series and just repinned them myself.

You can simply repin if you only want your headlights to work as NO Daytime running lights, Low Beam with HIGH Led strips, and High Beam with HIGH Led Strips. If you want Daytime running lights you'd need to solder onto the pcb or tap somewhere else for power.
No Tick of Lights: No lights on at all 1st Tick (Parking): High Led strip 2nd Tick (Low Beams): Low Beams with High Led strip 2nd Tick (Highs): High beams with High Led strip This is how mine is wired currently, I just unpinned the Halogen stock lights and took its plastic piece that would connect to the car and unpinned the 10 series lights and used the halogen stock lights plastic piece since the Halogen lights used a 6 pin connector and the 10 series uses a 8 pin connector even though the 10 series lights only have 6 pins.
