I have 26 miles, the chirps aren't nearly as loud as they used to be.... They might be all gone. I'll give it a good listen next time and report back.

I'm in the shop for the third time for that very same issue. Mine is weird because the cel turns off though. Today marks the 28th day in the shop for this third visit and 47 days overall. They have swapped cam assemblies bank to bank, replaced one set of cam sprockets, and replaced both timing chains.

Although I am not in a super hurry to find one either, I am a ways from being comfortable doing something that will easily void my warranty at this stage in the game. My car has had the CEL/SL rough idle / AVCS issue and that alone at this point has put the car at about 2/3 of the way towards qualifying as a lemon according to the requirements for the Texas Lemon Law.
could you point to me where they have had issues with headers blowing out the engine? i'd like to read about it because i was planning on getting headers sometime next year.

I've been running headers for a few weeks now, 0 issues. I don't see how they can blow an engine. All they do is scavenge the exhaust gas faster and have thinner walls which makes them louder.

As he stated I don't think the headers are the direct cause. It's more the fact that the people that mod engines push the envelope. I think the person's driving habits and tune play the real factor, as well as some of the know issues for our cars.

This. Without a tune (which is how it would be for a while), I fear the engine would be running too lean, plus I am not sure how factory seals and gaskets would hold up with the new found air flow. Anyway, my plans for my car have hit a speed bump [removed for CYA]. C'eis la vie!
