think I may stop by once I order some exhaust bolt ons and see how it is.
I plan on ordering a full day to install my headers, front half exhaust, rear shifter bushing, positive shift kit, and possibly brake pads/lines.

Anyone in austin gone FI?

I'm a little late to the party known as this thread. I'm looking into it and am a complete tuner noob. Need maybe a good hook up for a tuner in the area, possibly familiar with the fr-s/brz, and able to install.

Any thoughts or ideas? I'm open to anything

I personally am staying away from FI until a lot more is known about the fa20, considering I have heard about headers blowing engines (I guess some internal seals aren't up to the job. If you go FI, be prepared to go balls deep with your wallet. My $0.02.

I've always used Continental Collision. They're affiliated with Austin Subaru too. They've always done good work.

Yeah, that's what I'm afraid of. And if I were to go FI, I'd be selling my FJ and DDing it. Dunno if that's really smart on my part.

I was planning on doing headers and overpipe and all that, but hearing that even just headers can blow up the engine makes me nervous to do anything beyond intake and catback at this point. Also, does anyone know a GOOD tuner in the Austin/SA area? I haven't really heard of one. Although I am not in a super hurry to find one either, I am a ways from being comfortable doing something that will easily void my warranty at this stage in the game. My car has had the CEL/SL rough idle / AVCS issue and that alone at this point has put the car at about 2/3 of the way towards qualifying as a lemon according to the requirements for the Texas Lemon Law.

I'm going with FA20club for tuning. It arrives tomorrow and my Nameless 3" downpipe, 3" midpipe just shipped today. Just missing my JDL UEL and my exhaust is done for a while till I go turbo in a few years.

DIYTexas is a great place to have access to a lift. Got my 3" exhaust installed there. I really hate the stock Subaru header bolts though.... they were an absolute pain in the ass. The exhaust itself fit perfectly and was on in 15 minutes or less. Making new holes for the header was almost 4 hours after plasma cutting the inserts off and expanding the holes.

John at Stout Performance (formerly protech) may be worth talking to. He's tuned tons of platforms over the years (mostly boosted)... last I asked him about it, he didn't have the ecutek license so you'd most likely end up with brzedit.. but I'm not sure that's a bad thing.

I'm holding off on the supercharger until the direct injector seals are improved.

Anyone know where I can find just a pair of stock wheels? Looking to mount some drag radials.
