What does a turbo have to do with needing a gearbox? I've replaced a few in stock cars.

I've gone through two sets of syncros and one gearset.

The engine, can take a lot, the internals ... sadly not so much, specifically the bearings.
The oiling is also an issue and can lead to major troubles.

Again comparing numbers from various tunes isn't necessarily the best read of what the engine can take, analyzing the failures is a much more pragmatic approach to determine where are the limits

Spinning 4th gear and fuel starving in long high G corners doesn't lie. Neither does the 18,000 miles on my odometer.

Whoops. I thought you fragged 4th in all 3 of your transmissions.

Are you rebuilding them yourself?

That would be one hell of a hobby...in which case i dont think so, otherwise after the second failure he would probably take so many selfies with them and post them here with suggestions on why they're breaking so much and where.

Your level of sarcasm is too advanced for this forum.

I can't get the parts to rebuild them. But I've inspected every failure and I've sent off a few pieces to "transmission specialists" but so far no help from the GTR/honda sequential/drag race/ lexus community except for a tremec tko swap proven by a supra drag race guy who didn't want to waste a v160 on this inexpensive of a car. That's the only answer that's somewhat affordable.

I found a guy that would make me custom carbon syncros but he wanted more money than what a new transmission costs. And if it worked it probably just shear 4th and wreck everything in there. I also have a contact with a shop that does sequential conversions for stis and Hondas but he wanted 6k and couldn't say if it would be stronger nor not. 6k is more than a tremec swap and 75% of the way into a v160swap.
And before someone says it the r154 does not fit in the tunnel and neither does the Nissan z transmission.

Any success/improvement in longevity in running a transmission fluid cooler? Thats the most affordable solution I can think of.

Is anyone making stronger gearsets for the 6sp? I only see the Cusco close-ratio, which only changes 1st and 2nd.
