I have see lots of reviews who say the 2.0 liter engine in these cars in super smooth, even at redline. Sure it don't sound like the old boxer engines from Subaru but it is smooth as silk. The sound tube is just there to give the driver more sound. Without that sound tube you probably would not even hear the engine.
If you have ever driven a 350Z you know the engine does not sound smooth at redline. I remember somebody was saying the FR-S\BRZ engine was smoother than any engine other than the Mazda RX8 rotary engine. The car just needs a better exhaust. But just think if Yamaha has tuned the engine note on this car, like they did on the LF-A.... |
