Thanks for the kind words and support guys. I appreciate it. I really enjoy my job. It kinda sucks leaving the family, but I know they'll be OK. As for me, I'll be fine. I didn't join the service to die for my country. I joined so the bad guys can die for theirs.

I'll keep y'all updated as much as possible. I'm pretty sure Jason from Treadstone will keep us updated as well!

That's just how we do it here down in FL! It also shows just how light these cars are!

Seriously though, they were right-side-up when I previewed the post last night.

Oh well, I'm sitting in the airport waiting for my flight, so you guys have a great 4th!

I like that quote. I'm shipping out next month. It does suck leaving the family. I'm going to miss a lot of cookouts, birthdays, and holidays with my Family.

It's not the R/S ratio.
Very true and they are engines that fair quite well. Last I checked the fastest evo runs a longer than 1.75:1 rod ratio...the fastest standing mile evo runs an 88mm crank as well. It all really depends on what kind of powerband you're chasing.

With that being said, those 4G6x motors aren't being build with narrow stock rods or penny penching steel like the stock Mazda engines. I won't blame the rod ratio but I will blame the penny pinchers at corporate

....and yes, I can completely nerd it out on engine internals, it's my job and has been for many years. Treadstone, let me know when you guys want some real internals for this build and want to turn up the wick OR maybe I'll pop by the booth this year at PRI.

Have you guys started interals for the FR-S yet, or, if not, are you going to start? It may become a possibility for this build...
