That's what I've been saying. To make this car perfect, they need to give it .5 more displacement to up the torque. That way you'd get grins from the handling AND the power and the cost and weight would still be low and the fuel economy good.

Nissan can learn from Toybaru's "mistakes" (many won't call them mistakes)
- but if Nissan can manage to create a $25-$30k lightweight 2+2 that makes more than 200hp, there will be some very happy customers for those cross shopping the new Nissan and the FR-S/BRZ. |

It's gotta be on Nissan's radar but they'd only do it if the 86 carves out a large enough niche such that there's room for more. Subie/Yota is placing a big bet with this car while other makers pass on the 1st round to see the payout before they ante up.

The Z's problem is its chassis. Too much weight. The Z should continue on the trajectory it's already headed while Nissan brings a new model to market, built on a lighter chassis with a smaller engine. A new Z with a smaller engine seems like going backwards, when really the Z should stay where it is or move slightly upmarket to make room for a little brother.

GT86, Silvia, RX-7, S2000..... it would be EPIC.
I'd say they'll call it 160 Z. Powered by a 230 PS, 300 Nm turbochareged 1.6l I4. +1 I also would like a BRZ STI powered by a FA25 making +250 PS/+250 Nm weighing less than 1200 kg. |

Say what you want about the KA24DE but you get more performance dollar for dollar than you could hope for with an SR. With that aside I highly doubt Nissan would do something like that again. If they bring back the Silvia, 200SX, 240SX or whatever they want to call it I highly doubt they would change it that much from region to region. It's too expensive and emissions standards have changed worldwide which was the original reason they changed the Silvia for the US and never offered the Skyline either.

True, untill it comes down to handling. I think having the full independent suspension gives a competetive edge, but of course this thread is about the Silvia and while the Mustang offers great dollar for dollar performance it's not exactly the subject at hand. Now if your talking about swapping one of the Mustang V8's into an S14 that's another story all together but I "personally" don't want a V8 in my 240 and am getting annoyed by the current trend of LS1's and Lexus V8's being crammed into these cars.
