This link to Left Lane is in Toyota's internal associate bulletin, Driver's Seat, today. Interesting leak:

"BMW will also get a version of Toyota's mid-size sports car..."

Exactly. The viper may have stopped production for a short while but it's still currently available

The LFA is not coming back. So like the MKIV before it, it's no longer the flagship car.

The FT1 is as far as we know, going to be the new car, and what notice from Toyota says there's going to be a new six figure car about it? because this is the first I'm hearing about it.

From what I've been able to Gather the only other sports car Toyota has been talking about is a possible sub-86.

There are still some LFAs on dealer lots, whether they are for sale or only exhibit for marketing remains to be seen.

Here, let me do the gathering for you.

"The long-term plan has President Akio Toyoda's backing, he said. Akio believes that every generation deserves to have a car like an LFA"

Well, seven days old, but that isn't the point. I think what's significant is that it was re-published in a Toyota internal organ, adding weight to the likelihood of FT-1 production, price potential, possible power unit and reinforcing the rumor of technology shared with BMW. I don't recall random rumors about future product being repeated in Driver's Seat.

Too me the concept clearly shows mid-front layout, even with dry sump due low hood line. Side intakes show rear monted radiators, so I can only assume it has transaxle tranny. This is exactly like LFA, which is perfect. Of course this is only a concept, but hopefully it will translate that way into production.

This car looks like it is going to be so expensive that nobody or almost nobody on this forum could afford one.

I wonder why almost all of the speculation is that it'll have a Toyota engine when the last collaboration car didn't, although I hope it does from a reliability, maintenance and aftermarket expense standpoint compared to BMW.

Unfortunate, there's nothing good about this car being powered by a BMW developed engine. BMW develops their powertrains to be reliable during the warranty period and that's about it.

Whats funny is, in the ft-1 concept pictures the plastic engine cover says "Toyota".

The thing is a bmw with toyota sheet metal. So you either buy the toyota, or you buy the bmw for a premium.

Now obviously you will just be paying for some trim pieces and the badge (ala BRZ vs FR-S), but the snob in my says "Eh, whats 5 grand really?"
