Sorry, I still don't believe Toyota to be doing a joint venture for their flagship car. Not a chance. If they are, then I will eat my own words and shake my fists vigorously.

I see people constantly loosing hope about this care because the Price could be $60,000+
are you guys not aware that the MKIV Supra costs around $50k in the 90's which in today's money, is about $70k I mean, I see those prices and say, "Sounds about right." this is basically the Japanese version of the corvette and thus should cost around corvette money. it's too be expected. this is after all, Toyota's flagship car.

During the last year of US Supra importation they discounted them heavily to $38K. Back then there was little competition but that's changed for the better.
FR-S was rumored to be coming in <$20K but became >$25K, +25%. |

Right. It is and always will be Land Cruiser worldwide. It's the vehicle that put them on the map, is built to the highest standard in the flagship Tahara plant. The Toyoda family and Japan staff have a strong, revered attachment to L/C.

Almost all of Toyota's great stories have been joint ventures. Thank Yamaha for the 1J and 2J series. Toyobaru gave birth to the twins. Toyota and BMW sounds like a great win-win situation given both have very unique technology designs to offer each other. |

Got any links to this claim?
Because there are no articles, or confirmation from Toyota at least from my searches.

So? Viper stopped production for half a year, did that make the Dodge Challenger their flagship all of a sudden? The Supra doesn't even exist yet and there will be a six figure sports car above it anyway.
Supra might get cheap carbon composites from BMW and BMW will get fuel cell tech from Toyota. Deal with it people. |
