no that would result in even more stress. both from the (presumably) reduced wheelspin and the taller gearing.

I was thinking the clutch might slip and the instant loads and wheel hop might be avoided.

Oh trust me my clutch wouldn't slip. I've launched on the stock tires in second, massive wheel spin. I do what they call preload, i hold the ebrake bring the car up to 5000rpm and slip the clutch ever so slightly to "load" the drivetrain. Reduces shock loading. I Might have a low comp engine but I'm on Canadian pump gas which is equivalent to your mid grade lol.

I need to get to the track soon. My plan is to follow behind a drag car and line up in his rubber. Maybe throw some sand bags in the trunk to help out a little too hahaha

That's the beauty of them coming to the track. I'm bringing spare axles so if u break one u can use mine. I'm also trailering my car down so I it came down to it we could just swap parts to get u home
