What if Subaru did this, and completely neglected to tell Scion about it?

'The new Scion FRS, starting at $23,995! And the more equipped BRZ Premium, starting $17,499!'

Wait. More... For less?

Sold Orders would be tremendous. Too bad Subaru is only giving each dealer 2.5 cars...

Hope not. I just sent him $10000 for the swamp land in Florida and still haven't received the deed.

What I find amazing is that this is the second time in a week that either Subaru or Toyota has posted a staging area live on the web.

It's got to be part of the hype machine. It is incredible how, in this connected age, a company doesn't even have to publish information... people will find it so long as it's searchable in some format. Really quite impressive.

Could be an intentional leak to garner some media attention. There's over 500 people on this forum daily; being on the front page would not hurt them. Probably trying to steal some attention from Toyota; notice how the Autobild article came out today...the same day as the BRZ sold-orders opened. BRZ build page leaks after SCION announces First 86 winners' trips? I'm getting suspicious.

Interesting find for some: On both the limited and premium models, auto transmission comes as free or standard as an option. Not sure if this is accurate info, or just a template error.

I disagree with that. If people believe the price is higher than what they are willing to pay a lot will jump ship to GC's or used Cayman's before the pricing is revealed.

Having a template site with false numbers (that people know is false) isn't hurting them imo. The reverse would. If all the prices on that website were $10,000 higher than what is listed there would be a lot of discouraged people right now. Discouraged people considering other cars.

I disagree and your statement doesn't really make sense logically. No one is going to jump ship since everyone knows no official pricing is released. I would rather my customer think the car will cost $25k but in reality I will sell it to them for $22k. Instead of the customer think it will cost $25k and I will charge them $28k. Always better for the customer to assume worse and then when the official info is released everyone will be pleasantly surprised. More positive buzz regarding the "super low price" vs. the negative buzz with "why are they d-bagging us and stealing our money for 200hp." High price expectation with low reality price is THE best scenario.

No one is discouraged and jumping ship to a GC or used Cayman now. You know how I know? Look at the pre-order list. Also the fact that no official pricing is announced. People will jump ship if actual pricing is more than they want/expected.

Zomg Awesome! Nice Find!
this is exciting! I'm cloning the website in case they take it down to preserve the data.
the 17k model shouldn't be a fluke since I'll be assuming it's the FR-S (they had a 17k rumor pop up on their website as well)
both the BRZ and FR-S had place holders using the entry level model's prices
they may not know the real price since the website is being built at the moment. the 20k and 25k are place holders

The website is not fake. It's a test server the web developer uses while building it. This is using Subaru.com domain, so it is real.
The prices are place holders I'm sure someone told him or her it's around 20k and around 25k that is why the price is so exact unlike other models

If prices go LIVE ... I have a pretty strong feeling that
instead of 20k ... its going to be 23,995+Destination((700?))
and instead of 25K its going to be 26,995+Destination((700?))

But maybe 22K+((destination)) will be dealer invoice
and 25K+((destination)) will be dealer invoice for Limited
