I see alot of the last gen Celica in the rear end.

Does the front overhang look too long to anybody else?

I just can't see it opening up as trunk any more than 45 degrees w/out it hitting something; like the wing hitting the rear glass. It has to be a hatch just like the Celica GTS.
There is a picture showing Mk I has a trunk. It was stated in the Tada san's interview that Mk II has a hatch. That is probably the only information we have so far.

I do agree with you that the shape of the rear window and the boot cover suggest this is a hatch. If it has a trunk, the opening is darn small to be useful in anyway to store your track tires/gears.

That said, the Wing shown here may not be the permanent feature of the car, so theoretically it can have a trunk. We just need to wait for Nov 30 to find out.

I'm not really thrilled, it might just be me but the bumpers look a little rounded. This isn't the Scion version, so I guess I still have some hope left.

I haven't been checking the forum much the past few weeks, but are you sure this is confirmed? I would expect the bumpers to be different but I have no idea how the production version will differ. Thanks for the heads up though.

Things i notice:

-It's right hand drive
-No fog lights. instead it has the same mesh as the grille.
-dual headlights, no LEDs
-Body kit but no side skirts and rear valence
-FR-S style hood line much more visible, but the longitudinal lines that flank the front badge cant be seen (or is gone?)
-racing lightweight side mirrors
-new wheels, very similar to enkei PF-01
-same rear side windows as the latest BRZ spy pics, so they're tiny and probably useless.
-looks like the FT86 logo is back. and no sign of the bmw M style horizontal bar on the side vents. perhaps a key styling difference between FR-S and BRZ. both side vents look to be either non-functional or may turn out to no be vents at all and just indents.
-even though they didnt use the rear portion of the body kit, they did use the piece under the muffler.
-brake calipers, exactly like the ones seen in the Frankfurt auto show. look at that weird looking front caliper! i previously thought i might have been fake, guess not!
-3rd brake light is missing, but not relocated. this car is still a coupe imo.
-tires are potenza RE-11S
-toyota badge is clearly seen
-Backup lights are by the diffuser

FANTASTIC...

Back to the top of my list for "Next Car" after these pics. Love the head lights, front fascia, tails and the little upside down pyramid lower brake lights and lower reverse lights. I hope the final version has that rear splitter. I am a hatch guy myself but I understand the benefits of a trunk on a car like this. Overhang is a little big as someone else mentioned. What what little we have seen in camo of this and the BRZ I think the Toyota/Scion is going to be a better looking car (for me).

Thanks Hachi for posting these pics and looking forward to more Maybe even some Video? TMS can't come soon enough.

I hope not, because if you look at the roof those lines are still there and if they didn't continue down the hood they would be pointless and it would look silly. Hopefully it's just either covered up on the hood, or it isn't a production hood.

If you look at the rear window in the fifth pic you can clearly see that the black is only tape and there looks to be no pillars behind that, pillar less side windows , and better for visibility, no?

I'm only seeing lines on the roof, nothing on the hood, am I missing something? I hope they keep the fr-s hood lines, made it look more aggressive
