The hp curve looks like, uh, well, it's not a curve. I think somebody laid down a ruler on the dyno screen. Torque curve has a sharp climb from low revs to 3k, then plateau's for a while. A long while.

From 1500 revs onwards, there is a good 20 ft/lbs more torque than stock, that turbo must really be coming in early. I want this on the AVO USA FR-S right now!

Do actually have some updates... First day of tuning had it's issues, of course, but we did reach 240whp/222ft/lbs of torque with just 4psi of boost. 240whp was reached at 6800rpm, and peak torque was reached about 3000rpm. For comparison, we started at about 160whp/140ft/lbs, so in a general sense, we already reached our first goal (80whp gain).

It's by no means final figures, as this is by no means the end of tuning. Just getting a feel for the engine and setup right now, then we'll start ramping things up a bit. By no means is 4psi the limits of the turbo or engine, we are just cautious about this and going over everything carefully.
Thank you AVO, these gains are more than I expected all the while keeping it within reason for a safer lasting engine.

A safe, quality, long-lasting, not overly crazy powered turbo is the reason I am following this thread closely.

Awsome job. I've been catching up with the thread, between work and spending time with the wife and son, it took me a couple days but I'm glad I did. I love the use of UEL headers and the whole set up you are using. Hope things are still going well. Can't wait for vids.:happy0180:

That description is the power delivery that I (and so many others) are chasing.

Thanks for not getting caught up in the peak-power crowd.

AVO I agree theres potential for power increase and tune as is but I say
"if its not broken don't fix it" I would love to see you guys focus more on driveability than power at this point, reason being that these numbers should be healthy for the transmission meaning every other component can remain stock and have a healthy life (mostly the clutch).

I think 250whp is SPOT ON what I would look for in this car, especially with those sweet 222lbs TQ.

Looks like a few of us are in agreement on this, especially if thats on stock exhaust you are going to get even more with a catback.

interested to see the final piece. I have to agree that 250whp with that torque is just excellent, specially with all stock components. This should have been the way the frs/brz came from factory.

A hell of a fix for the torque hole and then some, and I am salivating over that exhaust note. Can't wait for this to get complete!

250whp is more than a stage 2 WRX, thats a TON of power for this much lighter car.

I say let's step back a bit, and let AVO do their thing. They KNOW what they are doing, and if they offer the package with more power it is because they KNOW components will hold up. Everyone just chill and let them do their thing. When all its said and done, everyone will be able to look at this kit and know they will not compromise their car. This is exactly what AVO is all about, reliability.

Some people do want high hp cars though, AVO should also be able to deliver that also.

theres plenty of kits that do that for you.
I'm sure AVO will offer different turbos for higher power.
I hope the entry level stays conservative.

I'd rather have a car that does 0-60 in 5 secs a lot of times than one that does 0-60 in 3 secs once.
