What! I didn't see that in the instruction.

I don't think that's physically possible. O_o

One thing for sure though, it does sound like it's coming front the brake booster

Maybe it is just one of the plastic shrouds catching air? The fact its only happening at higher gears means your going fast enough for the wind to create enough force that it may just be the issue. If it was an engine issue wouldnt it happen in every gear?
Of course you could really test this if you found some way to blast through all six gears while the rear wheels were proper off the ground

I'm most likely gonna take it to a local shop and have them strap it on a dyno so that i can test the plastic piece catching wind vs mechanical error theory and most likely a power pull. 2 birds with 1 stone. Maybe even a custom tune.
Anyone know of a good tuner in Wisconsin that uses OFT?

But first. I think I'm gonna change the spring in the bov just to rule that out before spending money at a shop

You don't need one that tunes via oft, just one that tunes using RomRaider. They would have ECUFlash and can tune quicker, and then give you the file to use with your OFT.

Great, also... was there ever a tuner list compiled by region? I thought i saw something like that awhile back.

You can contact Chris at SBD to verify, but I did read that in the forum post in the marketplace.

Another thing, was tapping into the brake booster for vacuum a good idea? Where are you guys connecting your bov to?

Cause honestly it really does sound like the sound is coming from the booster

So plug the line coming from the brake booster and leave the bov without a vacuum line? Using only the spring in the bov to test if there's any noise still?

Yep. The BOV should stay closed and never open under this situation, so don't go crazy boosting it, but see if you get the same sounds.

Okay, so i disassembled the bov and removed the yellow spring, then installed the plain spring and took the car out for a drive, still had the same noise.
Then i removed cheap hose i used and bought a 1/4" fuel line hose that is rated for 250psi and installed it, still had the same noise.
Then i final got under the car to check the plastic. It all looked flushed, but there were two bolts missing so i tighten the plastic #4 down in a previous post earlier and noise is gone.

Moral of the story, I'm stupid.

happy to hear it was not something engine harming

Hahah too bad I didn't see this thread until today, I would have told you it was exactly that from the beginning. You would be surprised how far the plastic shrouding will extend when it gets air under it. I lost one of the bolts long ago and the first time it started scraping like that it scared the crap out of me, it's so damn loud in the car. If any mechanical components like the turbo, engine, etc. was making that noise it would have grenaded in short order.
