It seems like every thread turns into a lame argument these days. I miss how these forums used to be when everyone had logical and respectful discussions and debates.

Anyway, in my opinion, if there's one thing they do to upgrade the car, it better be getting rid of the torque dip. Even if it's not a displacement increase or FI, as long as they can tune it enough to add some power in the mid-range, it'll probably be enough to justify me getting one.

Yes! This man gets it!!

Something that is visceral and fun without having to break laws to enjoy it.

Hey, I love fast cars. I've had fast cars. Now I want something that's fun to drive at sane speeds. If a new version of the FRS/BRZ comes out with a turbo and 250hp, I'll be more than happy picking up a nice used "slow" version that someone dumped in favor of getting to 60mph a half second faster.

I think as a daily driver, this vehicle is plenty capable. You shouldn't be trying to beat a Camry V6 in a straight line during daily driving, plain and simple. The only area you would need acceleration capabilities in daily driving should be onramps, and passing cars. This car is plenty capable of both. In most cases, if I am on an onramp and I floor it, I am already at higher speeds rather quickly compared to traffic merging, so I pose a potential risk for accident.

Being on the track is a different story, and I completely agree that for a track car this car lacks in some areas. But than again, if you are tracking this car, running it to its limits, then you shouldn't be complaining about reliability. You have plenty options to increase your power and performance capabilities. That is a part of racing and tracking owners should be prepared for. It sucks I know.

Toyota and Subaru would be foolish to spend even more money developing a significantly higher horsepower variant of this car. The Miata has already demonstrated that a simple, superior handling lightweight sportscar can be successful in a world full of bloated, high horsepower 2 door vehicles.

I think this car has to be one of the most misunderstood vehicles on the market.......

^This.

Why are people trying to drag race with this car anyway?

Take that same Camry against my stock FR-S on twisty roads and buh-bye! (Not that I advocate street racing in any way. I'm comfortable with the size of my wang.)

This car is fun to drive, even just as a DD on mostly highways at sane speeds. In the afternoons, I get on the highway via a clover leaf and I have yet to experience another car that can stay close to me around it. Taking a 180 degree turn at double the speed of other cars and still within the limits of my car is absolutely grin-inducing!

Also, the 86 is simply dead sexy! A Camry, vanilla. A Mustang, heavy brick. A Camaro, weak redo of a '68. A WRX, quirky-cool, but not sexy. I've never had another car before that I look at just sitting in the driveway and go, "Damn, she's hot!"

What would be awesome is if Toyota and Subaru got rid of the torque dip and +25hp for the 2015 refresh and us people who own the twins already get a letter in the mail that says common down to the dealership and get your ECU updated!!! Eliminates the torque dip and +25hp [>_<]. TADA SAN PLEASE.

I read the 16 will be a cheap version of the LFA.

The aftermarket has that covered.

Yea, but it would be cool to get it for FREE. Just day dreaming but you never know. Do you think it would be possible for Toyota to squeeze out another 25hp and eliminate the torque dip by just tweaking the ecu for us? Tsb ecu update/flash

There are several software tuners who have addressed that issue. The "torque dip" does not bother me a bit. I learned do live with that sort of thing long ago when learning to drive. Keep it out of the dip.

I'm wondering when we'll hear if the 2015's will have any changes from the 2014. I'll guess that they'll be minor changes (if any), like all models getting the front kneepads and maybe the rear center armrest (like on the '14 Monogram).

From searching, it looks like the 2015 feature/details should become available a month before the build date (in this case May 2014). I looked at the 2014 thread posted by the OP (aug 2013 build, sept 2013 release), and found a thread describing model changes was posted in July 2013.

When do you think the 2015 details will be released?

FZS is supposedly the STI trimmed model.
I am curious to see what changes they make to the STi aesthetics.
