So would it be reasonably safe to use the Whiteline camber bolt kit for the top bolt in conjunction with the SPC kit in the bottom? Whiteline instructions say top only, and I assume this is due to the bolt dimensions as mweidner stated above.

A friend and I are staying on stock struts for a while, but we'd like to achieve decent camber without worrying about slipping or having to buy expensive camber plates that will eventually turn sloppy and noisy. And the ComC top hats are presently out of production...

As I plan on that exact setup( maybe yellows as that is on hand), how do you find as a DD? That and how are you fairing in autocross these days? Haven't seen any updates.

Cool

Sounds like the OEM 14mm crash bolt is for a 16mm hole, and you might want to use a 16mm bolt on a notched 16mm hole.

Perhaps the undersized 14mm bolt should not be paired with a 16mm notched, or the surface area on the lock washer/nut may be to small. Additionally, any coating on the strut which may wear or compress and reduce clamping force.

I'm just post-secondary physics student with a lack of automotive mechanic experience here, contributing $0.02 to the cause.

SPC kit is a 14mm bolt for the BOTTOM hole as per the instructions Whiteline is a 16mm bolt for the TOP hole. I confirmed this with part numbers

Interesting thread !
Been waiting until I got confused, and yep !

Whiteline camber bolt instructions specifically state they can be used in the top or BOTTOM holes (bottom for race use only) -

??????????????????????

Can a 14mm crash bolt on top and a whiteline camber bolt on the bottom work for even more camber ?
or how bout a Whiteline on top and SPC on bottom ?

The Whiteline and SPC are the same bolts IIRC.

I'm running Whiteline bolts in slotted stock struts, sitting at -2* up front (can't go further without the tires hitting the spring perch). Been driving like that since early July, no slippage despite driving A LOT on terrible roads (I commute to Yonge/Eg from Whitby), plus track and autox.

Runnin OEM crash bolts up top, stock holes - 1.7, no movement after tracking.
Will Whiteline add more if put in the bottom holes ? Do any holes have to be altered ?

As others have already stated they are the same exact bolt Whiteline re brands and packages SPC made camber bolts.

To be honest you can probably safely run the bolt in either hole. No one has had a catastrophic failure to my knowledge...

All that being said I run mine in the bottom hole you achieve greater + or - chamber in that hole so much that I could visually notice a difference when the wheels where back on and on the ground. I've only logged a few thousand miles since then but not noticed any slippage. Like others have said they have some pretty gnarly teeth and a key to keep them in place on the washers. So as long as you install them right and torque them correctly you shouldn't have any issues.

Happy wrenching dude!

If your already at -1.7 you've pretty much maxed out the bolts abilty at that point. You achieved that in the top hole?? Should only be able to get that in the bottom unless you have a smaller size bolt
