Ok maybe not, but the point is, driver talent varies so much that a BRZ with OEM sized brakes keeping up with "faster" cars isn't evidence of the cars performance.
I'm proof of that, I'm no pro by any stretch of the imagination, but at a lapping event I was easily lapping faster than a 1M on wide PSS (265/295's!) and an e92 M3 (stock). Both cars are definitely faster on paper, but I was out braking and out cornering both by a large margin.

Stock almost everything in my car except:

Perrin front pipe (doubt that did anything at measurable on the track, but it sounds better )
Ferodo DS2500's all around
ATE Super Blue
StopTech braided lines (again, probably no difference in time from this)
Grimspeed MC brace (again, probably no difference in time from this)
17x8 RPF1's with 225/45 Dunlop ZII's.

I don't know if I'm actually any faster with the upgraded pads/fluid, but I do know I haven't glazed or faded the brakes at all since the upgrade, which would easily happen in 5-10 minutes on stock pads/fluid.
