The dealer I spoke to was Oldmac Toyota at Cleveland. As I mentioned though, this is just what the salespeople thought. They haven't heard anything from Toyota Australia.

That's the thing though, these dealers seem to know just as much or less than us.

We are bickering because we have nothing better to do. Everyone else knows, and Australia as usual is last.. This is generating hype, and anticipations are high, but man are there going to be pissed off masses if Toyota screws the price after such a comparatively long wait.

Indeed. I've just moved to Australia and am hoping to get a car soon (it's likely to be my first 'new' car) and am holding out till this gets released. If it's above 40k then that's pushing it very close to 125i and Scirocco territory, and if that's the case I think I'll probably grab the veedub =/

I have my money ready Toyota, do you want it. Because the missus is bugging me to hurry up and get a new car and so far the VW is winning.

Mate of mine is hating me right now because he is looking at a new golf for a few months now and I am more or less forcing him to wait for the 86 at least to test drive before he buys the golf. Without anything soon he will go ahead and buy the golf. Toyota ha a lot of orders/presales for this car, I just wonder how many will actualy be sold if overpriced lol
Then again some ppl love getting ripped off

Went in to talk to my dealer today. The boss had news on the 'Aero' package available for the GTS model. Apparently it will be the Nur spec (as shown below). Though the down side is that it will only be available after the release date. So if you were to order one it would be built after the 20 June launch. Where as the normal GT and GTS model would be built on order.

This information was given to him from his area manager; who in fact saw the car at the Gold Coast. He also described it with a big spoiler with fins and with a full body kit.

Any news of the TRD kit (non-nur spec) though? That would have my interest.

So will i be able to get the TRD version and get Nur spec parts chucked in the back seat at a cost... I want the TRD version but i want that wing on and off the car as i see fit...
Was so sure i would get black on black but it looks like its VIP white on black rims now...

I been lurking but aint been following hard enough to keep up to date these last few months.... Is the TRD going to be a delayed option or will it be released on the June date?

If I'm not mistaken, the current consensus is that the TRD parts will be on sale around 6 months after the 86 release date. So end of the year probably.
