I re-torqued the bolts on Saturday and haven't smelled the oil since. I'll see how long that fixes it.

Is this issue something the manufacturer is aware of?

Is the torque spec 11.8ft for all three bolts or did I read it wrong?

Is it possible for someone to fab up a gasket to put in there instead of sealant?

It's something that they need to be aware of, but who knows?

Yes, that's correct. I set my wrench to 12 and the bolts were definitely under-torqued.

Yes. I will be doing this if mine starts leaking again.

I will check the torque on mine tonight before attempting to remove and reseal it.

Picking up my car in a few minutes from the dealer. The service rep says they removed the plate, resealed and re-torqued. Hopefully that will be the end of the leak for me.

I noticed a bit of a burning smell a couple weeks back after taking a long trip, haven't noticed anything since but it was only when i opened the hood to show a friend and noticed the burning smell. Thought the engine was just hot or something, didn't think much of it. Mines an AT.

I just checked mine and it seems to be ok. It was properly torqued. I did notice basically 1 drop of residue on the bottom of the plate. It could be oil or basically anything but nothing on the manifold.

Bought my car in June

I checked mine today, and the bolts are all torqued to at least 12 ft/lbs. I still had another drop of oil there. I think I will just pull it off and try to seal it up with Fuji Bond.
