Oh wow! This would be cool! The only reason I didn't buy an 86 keychain is because it only had one loop. I'd buy this!

It's a little small, but I am very satisfied with it. It is only a prototype. Would anyone be interested? It is 2 sided.

Well done man! Can SolidWorks do this and export a CAM file? What is a good quality 3D Printer?

I'll look into making a sleeve/cover/wrap for it, but an entire cap would be too expensive and would take a lot of prototyping.

Sound tube delete cap/plug

I prefer a muted cabin, hence, I bought 1.25" PVC cap from Lowe's, removed the sound tube, and capped it near the air intake. Ugly as hell but functional. I know Dynosty already sells a metal/aluminum(?) version. But think of the design you can do on that cap/plug with a 3d printer.

What were you thinking that would be so much better when 3D printed? It's just a set of caps. I guess you could do a design on the end of the cap or something.

Be aware that some 3D printing materials are not well suited for an engine bay. They work best because they are thermoplastics with moderate melting points making them easy to work with, but that melting point could be trouble when near somethign hot like an engine.

PLA (this is what I use, but it won't hold up to much heat)

ABS (might work to cap the sound tube but I would want to do some testing before I installed it)

UV Resin (This would probably work great but consumer printers of this type won't start to be available until later this year)

In addition to my 3D printer I have limited access to a lathe, and mill. I turned my own sound tube caps out of Delrin and they look great. Here's the link with all my dimensions. They fit perfectly.

Make this. I don't care if people think it will fly off and kill me, it won't. If glued down proper it will just stay on as the cover flips down upon blowing.

I would prefer leather or vinyl but plastic would be cool.

Testify! As soon as I modded my airbag with the Toyota emblem all my friends were like, it will fly off and kill you. If I am getting hit so hard that my airbag deploys I have worse things on my mind than a rogue plastic Toyota emblem.

Worst case scenario, I have the Toyota logo imprinted on my face, and that is a hell of a lot better than a Scion logo!
