Could be done, but personally I don't think it would look very good.

Hm... I don't really wanna share this info, cuz I was planning to do it on my FRS/BRZ, but o'well

First measure the top & bottom length of the emblem and make a perfect 86 emblem size that fit (top to bottom). Use bondo or other stuff (like ABS or PLA) to fill in that whole emblem spot... except have a lil bit of dip, so 86 emblem fit nicely. After Everything test fitted, glue, sand, pain the ABS/PLA that cover the emblem. Paint the 86 emblem to silver/chrome or whatever color you like and done.

Yeah, it's extra work, but when it comes out, it's pretty nice. I've seen done w few different cars.

It is a double sided key chain. The pistons have been pulled in a bit for form factor.

iv got too many CAD files on things i want to make using a 3D printer or CNC mill for my rx7. At the time 3d printing service was non-existent. and was only accessible to very few people. But i never got a chance to get any of my designs off the screen.

Maybe i should start rendering some items for the FRS/BRZ also and take another look at getting some things printed out.

Some things i designed was an brake dust shield that replaced the OEM one, which also featured air cooling veins that spred out to the entire rotor facing, being fed by a brake cooling duct. I should revisit it this time around and let the cooling duct wrap around the suspension knuckle to avoid binding.

Another one was a bit of a experiment for me, i designed a "Iron Sight" similar to a gun, but placed at certain spots of the front fenders to use as guides to know were your tires are aiming when you turn, specifically when you can no longer see the hoodline of your car due to low seating from race seats. I wanted to use it for training purposes, but i think it might be a little stupid.

If i wanted to make something now for the FRS/BRZ just for shits and giggles and make some money, id make custom squid caps(aka FA20 engine covers).

Not sure if these are available in japan but I really wanted a rear badge that said "hatchiroku" (spelling?) to replace the FRS badge. Opinion?

Getting something as large as squid caps 3D printed is going to be expensive, probably on par with the cost of carbon fiber if not more expensive. The break dust shields are an interesting idea, but I suspect you'll run into strength/heat issues.

If anyone has smaller bits already renderd in CAD for the FRS/BRZ that you'd like to see test printed feel free to run them by me. If I agree that they're cool I'd be happy to run test prints.

In Japaneese I take it? Do you have a pic that would be similar to what your thinking of?

Well if someone can provide a graphic I can convert to 3D, or better yet do up a CAD model of one I'm happy to test print it.

I woludn't dare try and create one from scratch. I don't know Kanji at all and would probably end up making it look like nonsense.

I wanted to have a custom center cap insert for my new wheels so I decided I would try doing a two color print using the 86 logo.

It's 49mm diameter, which works as a replacement for a lot of after market wheels, and even our stock wheels.

I just used white and yellow because that's what I had on hand. I'll probably end up using either red, or blue on a black background.

It also might make a cool keychain.
