I think anything under 20lbs will be better than most Oem wheels. The various aftermarket wheels I have bought have been about 17-19lbs.

I can afford to wait for clearer info. Agreed on OEM wheels but, as a former Miata owner, some of the early wheels like "daisy" and "hollow spoke" were really light; so I thought I'd ask.

I once made a bad mistake on unsprung weight so, now, I want to know what I'm getting into. If not too bad, perhaps even used 1st-gen BRZ/86 wheels for the snow tires.

Yeah winter wheels for snows can be heavier as you are not likely pushing the limits on public roads. Summer tires deserve a lighter wheel for those spirited runs.

When my car arrives in mid to late November, I will be buying a nice set of aftermarket wheels (probably Enkei or OZ) for use over the colder months here in Nashville and will most likely get the Continental DWS06 Plus tires on them.

I have a Miata ND, and for my summer tires on a set of Enkei PF01's, I run Continental Extreme Contact Sport tires. For my cold weather wheels, I run Continental DWS06 Plus. They are great ultra high performance all season tires.

That said, I have a 2017 Focus ST that I run Michelin Pilot Sport All Season 4's on, and they are great tires as well (but more costly and heavier than the DWS06's).
