Actually FYI, caveat to my own advice - I'm actually in a bind with my headers as I have a Kraftwerks C38 kit sitting in my garage. The headers I have are long tube design which curve up in front of the motor a bit, and I'm thinking it's going to interfere with the Kraftwerks crank pulley adapter So probably going to have to pull them off and find another short tube header (or use the stock headers). I think this is only an issue with the Kraftwerks kit though due to the crank pulley adapter.
LOL yah the tinkering is the fun part, thats the exact kit i am looking at..
the plan was:
Pioneer AVH4200NEX
tein street basis z coilovers (I dont need aggressive coilovers)
enkei rpf1 (gold) since i have the WR pearl blue
brake pads
Braided lines
super blue fluids (clutch and brakes)
complete bushing kit
some whiteline stabilizer bars
clutch kit
SC kit (this is where Intake exhaust and tuning comes in)

In that exact order lol

Random question: how big of the difference will I feel going from stage 1 to stage 2? I am debating if getting a UEL header/going stage 2 is worth the money/experience.

It's a significant difference. It really wakes your car up. But you have to be catless and in some states that is an issue.

Not necessarily true, I run a catted aftermarket header and it made a big difference. P&L' s dynos show only a marginal loss between their catted and uncatted headers. However this may vary from header to header.

If you compare a stock car to a car with those minor upgrades, it's a night & day difference.

The way the car responds throughout the rev range is what owners appreciate when doing those types of modification.

In fact, the best bang for you buck would be a stage 2 setup with supporting mods. (Tune, Header back exhaust)

SC Kit is not the best bang for your buck. One day for fun I did a break down on a HKS SC kit, with a custom tune and installation.
The price came out too $8000.00CDN....that's not a best bang for your buck. I could buy another car for that amount.

SC kit can be a good bang for the buck if you don't have to pay someone else to install it. I have the HKS SC kit, and installed it myself (I have experience in this area), and 8000 miles later, it's still running perfectly. I had it tuned professionally right after install and whether it was his tune or the SC itself, the torque dip was greatly minimized.

3 weeks ago I installed a Tomei EL header and overpipe. The remaining torque dip, such as it was, was minimized still further, so as to be nearly nonexistent.

It's never going to completely go away, nor do I expect it to. I personally have never understood the complaint. When Honda does it, it's the "VTEC effect, yo." When Subaru does it, it's torque dip. It's just the transition in the cam profile.
