Find a new wife. And OP should have backed up to kids then burnt out to throw gravel at them

That is exactly what I did to the one guy at work that said "not powerful enough".
He apologised.

but yeah, owning this car is a trip. People always seem to go out of their way to make sure i know that my car isn't "fast". Ive been called a child for driving a "childs car".
Even when i bought it about a year and a half ago a guy driving by in his G35 yelled out "its a piece of shit don't buy it".

I'm the one always saying it's not fast. People are shocked, but it's a fact. I didn't buy it to drag race. I bought it because it's affordable, practical (granted, by my definition of that word) it's dead sexy and it has such a great balanced character. The thing cuts like a razor blade and challenges me to find its limit. I love it.

A guy in a G35 questioning the substance of another car, that's funny.

That's the thing though, i know my car isn't a rocket, that's not why i bought it. But people just have to make sure they tell me, its pretty comical.

I have received only compliments except for two instances. Some dude pulled up next to my wife and I in a pickup truck and asked me "so do you actually like this car?" I said yes, and drove away.

The other was when I was looking for a parking space at a hotel we were staying at. There was a restaurant next to it and some drunk teenagers raising hell in the parking lot saw me and started saying things like "do a drift" and some other stupid crap. I just calmly walked into the hotel and had the hotel staff call the cops, which they were only too glad to do since these clowns were being obnoxious to everyone.

So one slightly rude question and some drunken fools talking smack is no big deal compared to many more compliments and some outright fawning over it.

After reading these 4 pages & all the 'slow' comments I would only have these 3
questions to ask these people.

1- Ever drive a go-kart?
2- Did u have fun?
3- Was it fast?

Let them figure it out.

Much like life in general, I don't let anyone else's thoughts, comments, or insults dictate how I enjoy my car.

If everybody loved the same thing then this would be a boring world! I am not sure I would have even bought the car if it was a 200K a year volume vehicle. I do not for one minute expect everybody else to love it any more then I expect everybody to love minivans or Mustangs.

About 1 month into owning my BRZ, i pulled up into a little shopping center so that I could buy some french fries. It was packed so I found an open space right where a group of middle schoolers were hanging out. As soon as i was half way into the burger joint, they yelled out "daaaaaaaaamn thats a gay ass car". At first I didn't think nothing of it assuming they weren't referring to me. I was wrong. They said the same phrase again as I turned on my car, as I was leaving the parking area and just to make sure that I knew they were talking about me, they decided to to yell "daaaaaamn thats a gay ass car, the red one leaving over there". Yup, my first outspoken haters came in the form of little 13 year old middle schoolers. So does anyone else have a hater story to tell?

LOL I love how the people with no cars are the ones talking trash.

Also, I would have drove up next to them and said "my gay car wants to bang you."
